I am very proud of Jose Aldo. He is a great champion and deserves every accomplishment he is getting now. I am very thankful to be part of this amazing camp that is filled with great fighters, champions and coaches. We at Nova Uniao are not only about creating good fighters and champions, we are about making our kids, teenagers and adults better citzens who are respectful people showing the real meaning of martial arts and sportsmanship. We are all about respect and making new friends (friends for a life time).
I had a great time in Sacramento. I met incredible people, was able to see old friends, and get to know better people I already knew. It was a great pleasure to be able to hang out with my coach, Andre Pederneiras. I owe Andre everything, from my Jiu-Jitsu knowledge to the way I manange my classes and treat people on and off the mats. To be able to help Aldo in his final preparation phase was priceless, and I am very thankful to have been chosen by Jose and Andre to be part of it.I got a chance to get to know better Ed Soares, Aldo’s mananger. He is an incredible person, very intelligent and definitely the best in his field. I am proud to say he is in my circle of friends. I also had a chance to get to know better Jorge Guimaraes, also Aldo’s mananger. I followed “Joinha’s” footsteps a long time ago. He is an icon in Brazilian TV. He is the pioneer of hosting a Fighting program in Brazil. The guy is amazing! I have been his fan for a long time because of all he has done for MMA in Brazil and the World. It is a great feeling when you get to hang out and be friends with someone who is your idol.
What can I say about Uriah Faber? Aww this kid is amazing. Jusst to give you an idea how much people love him in Sacramento, the city mayor gave him “Uriah Faber’s Day”. He is a great guy, very respectful, treats everyone nice and deserves all the accomplishments he has achieved. I give him a lot of credit for taking a beating for five rounds and never quitting. He showed his fans a lot of heart, congrats Uriah!
Special thanks to my students for the love and support, all the text messages wishing us good luck, phone calls, for waching the fight together and cheering for us, this is priceless. Thank you Bradley for coming all the way to Sacramento to support us. I wish I had more time to be able to hang out with you more there. It was a pleasure to have met and roll with your friend Greg, “Snake”. It was good to have him inside circle.
I can’t forget Conrado Assuncao, Aldo’s muay thay student who flew all the way from Rio to watch the fight. He is a great person and now is a part of my circle of friends.Keep training hard!!
