Building World Champions Since 1995
With its inception in 1995, it only took a couple years for Nova União to build a team of World champions, claiming the the Team Division title at the 1997 World Championship. Today, Nova União seeks to return to the World’s podium and re-establish its legacy.

Founded by Andre Pederneiras and Wendell Alexander in 1995, Nova União is a Jiu-Jitsu team which had transformed over the years into a MMA powerhouse. The Gi remains to be the foundation of Nova União and shall never be discarded or forgotten. Translated from the original 2008 Nova União Brazil competition team shirt, this quote celebrates the team’s return and loyalty to its roots.
